Jackson and Natalia

A while back I finished some work on Jackson's '02 Volvo S60, Natalia. Over the course of a month new wheels, lowering springs, and an 'R' bumper were installed. It's nice to be able to work on a car with adequate funding; you get a lot more done.

This is what she looks like now:

Dinner

I had a lot of ground beef that needed to be cooked so I made a giant burger. Then I took a picture of it.

Actually I took like 30 pictures of it.

This one was taken by bouncing the factory flash off the wall with a legal pad. Bouncing the flash can make a huge difference:

No flash. Very blurry.

Direct flash. Washed out.

I think it may be time to start saving for a real flash. And eat my dinner.

The first few shots...

Back in time again. It's last Monday, I've just bought my Canon Rebel XT (350D to some of you), and I'm excited about using it. These pictures are the best of those first 900. They were taken in various places from around my condo, the lab I work at, and the neighborhood I live in. Enjoy:

(yes the muffler is a living room piece...)

MGB in West Seattle

Lets go back in time. The Friday before Formula Drift, some of my Volvo friends and I were out taking pictures of  Volvo shenanigans when, a car that was truly worth photographing showed up:

A 1973 (if my memory serves me right) MGB, completely and painstakingly restored by her owner of 30 years.

She was beautiful:

Formula Drift 2011 at Evergreen Speedway

My first FD event and my first time shooting any sort of drifting. Most of the pictures I took wound up being of the fence. I did get a few nice shots of the Pro-Am and FD battles but most of them were't worth the compact flash writes they took up.

See?

Here are the best of the rest:

And a few of Andrew Larson's 350Z after the front right strut rod broke on the end of the 5/8ths sending him backwards into the wall:

Ouch...

There are also a ton of pictures from the paddock/pits and the Slammed Society Showcase which was held as a part of the event. I'm a bit partial to the Datsuns as I'm restoring one myself but the black MK1 Golf was one of the cleanest cars there:
